Deck Analysis: Terrakion BW on

Its been awhile but here is our deck analysis. This time it is about our old friend, Terrakion.
As we all know, back in the HGSS-on era, Terrakion has find itself into many decks such as;
-Eelektrik Variants
-Six Corners
-Darkrai Variant

It even has it's own deck ;Quad Terrakion.

So you guys might be wondering, is terrakion still viable in this new format with the loss of some of the supporting cards back in the old sets. The answer is YES!

This is a rough skeleton I came up with
Pokemon
T/S/S
Energy
4 Terrakion
4 Professor Juniper
4 N
4 Cheren

3 Pokemon Catcher
3 Heavy ball
3 Switch
2 Energy switch
2 Random Receiver
2 Exp Share/Eviolite

12 Fighting energy

Obviously this list still needs working and with the release of Dragons Exalted, there are new options where we can include into this deck.

1. Stunfisk

This card can act as a starter for this deck to start dealing early damage across the field. Something which terrakion decks lack because of their energy needed. With 1 energy, Muddy water is a really useful attack to have in the arsenal.

2. Terrakion ex
A terrakion deck without it's own EX version? This terrakion is actually good as it is this deck's energy accelerator. its second attack does 90 for FFC and it allows you to attach 2 energy to any pokemon of your choice. It's first attack is also quite decent. Dealing 50 dmg ignoring resistance for 2 energy. (donphan anyone?)

3.Boufullant
Since it is a bull, lets just include him in too yea. This is good if you are expecting to see ton of Exes. which is not surprising. This bull can also be a wall for you to stall. With its ability similar to donphan prime's pokebody, imagine eviolite attached to it.

4.Tool Scrapper
Tool scrapper is definitely terrakion's best friend. With Darkrai Ex roaming everywhere with an eviolite attached, it needs to be 2HKO. Which is a nuisance. By getting rid of their eviolites, terrakion and terrakion ex can hit for weakness to deal 180 in a shot. Netting 2 prize cards. This also helps to get rid of pesky dark claws and other tool cards.

There are also techs in which you can include. As for that, I would leave it to you guys to experiment.
So a solid playable list which I would like to test out goes something like this:
Pokemon: 9
T/S/S: 39
Energy :12
3 Stunfisk
3 Terrakion
2 Terrakion ex
1 Boufullant
4 Professor Juniper
4 N
4 Cheren

4 Pokemon Catcher
3 Heavy ball
3 Switch
3 Energy switch
3 Random Receiver
3 Super Scoop up

2 Tool Scrapper
2 Exp Share/Eviolite
1 Energy retrieval
1 Super rod

12 Fighting energy
This list is a less disruptive version due to the missing of hammers and such.

There are other variants other then the one I listed above.

to conclude, we have come to the end of another deck analysis article. Hope you enjoyed it (especially the deck list) do let me know what else can be improved in the deck. Since I myself have not really tested the deck. Have fun testing the deck and do let us know how it goes.

Thanks for reading and till our next article!
