COTD : Unown Cure

Today’s card of the day ( a tribute to one of our writer) 

As you all can see, this card isn’t really a big deal but what makes this card somewhat useful is it’s poke power, Cure. What it’s power does is, when you bench this card, it gives a ‘full heal’ effect to your active pokemanz which removes any special condition from it.

This is especially useful when you’re going up against decks which utilises special conditions as their winning conditions. Such decks are;

-Chandelure/ vileplume

-Vaniluxe/Vileplume

-Secret Garden

Dropping Unown cure at the right time, can win you games especially when you’re able to take down 1 of their attackers and then continue trading prizes. Usually against decks like those above, you’ll be taking early prizes. So the Unown really helps you and give you an advantage.

This card fits in a deck with lots of space, so it doesn’t ruin consistency. This card is best paired with seeker.This way you’re able to reuse unown or take it off the bench to avoid giving cheap prizes~

The Tag Team Battle

Rules for tag team by Roarkiller if you want to try it out

Hello readers, here is the report for the tag team battle held last Sunday at GamesHaven. I partnered up with LockerKey to participate and give it a shot. The reason why because the prize is just to awesome.Mewtwo EX.  Lets jump into the report.
LockerKey: coke
Myself: Mageel

Match 1 (Huang Da & Bryan)

Lockerkey start and try to set up a voltorb , kyurem and terrakion. Pass to Bryan he set up his tynamo,magnemite and zekrom and pass.  My turn , start with unown cure and my hand is pretty bad with elecktross trolling me . i play N choosing me and huang da. Disrupt and reduce Huang Da hand down to 3. I benced thundurus and retreat unown. Bryan start with lone Reshiram EX attach fire energy and pass. LockerKey got a T2 electrode and BOOMZ . Decent energy and charge at kyurem and go for glaciate at bryan field . Bryan evolve into Eelektrik and charge Zekrom and bolt strike my thudurus. I cant do much attach energy to unown and pass . same goes for huang da attach fire and pass. Bryan able to set up magnezone and its downhill from there.

COTD: Flower Shop Lady

 
Like a bigger version of the card 'Super rod', 'Flowershop lady' allows the user to shuffle back any 3 pokemon AND basic energy cards from the discard pile back to the deck, and if your discard pile has met the requirments of 3 pokemon and energy, u HAVE to shuffle all 6 of them back.

 

Comparing Flowershop Lady and Super Rod
Flowershop lady allows u to shuffle back MORE cards then the train card Super Rod, but it's a supporter, and the old rule follows, only one supporter per turn, while Super Rod is a trainer card, which means you're allowed to spam it, have 4 in your hand? just use em' all! But given a scenario when u really need a certain pokemon, be it a evolution card or a basic pokemon, or u really need that one more Energy, but they're in your discard pile, and u have Super Rod in your hand... SUPER ROD! And u still can use supporter cards like 'Pokemon Collectors' or 'Cilan' to get those cards straight to your hand, and for Evolution cards, 'Pokemon communication' or 'Professor Elm's Training Method'! But against Decks with the Trainerlocking Vileplume, or MILLING decks like durant, Flowershop Lady > Super Rod. Very situational. But for myself, so far playing with Super Rod and Flowershop lady, i would say Flowershop Lady saved me more then Super Rod do. As i do have that one more turn to spare, somehow someway.....

hello readers, today we'll take a break from the competitive meta game-play and step into another form of playstyle in da pokemon tcg : rogue 

What is this 'rogue' u speak of?
rogue, or rogue decks are decks that are not made popular, which also means 'ulu' decks decks that are far different from the current meta.

Why should i play rogue when i can sweep the rest of the players with my 'top tier meta' deck?
1 ) Its boring sometimes when u go around tournaments and opponents all use the same few decks.
2 ) You'll never know one day your rogue deck's synergy might end up in the meta, and being the one who created that deck, you'll have this very accomplished feelin' . < i would, lol >
3 ) cheap... MOST OF THE TIME you WOULD spend lesser money creating a rogue then a meta
4 ) You'll get to play with your favourite pokemon < i create my rogue with my fav pokemon, haha>

Its been awhile yo!

Hey dear readers been awhile since I last updated the blog. Me and the other writers were just too busy with our personal lives. Kay so a quick breakdown on what had happened recently.

1. Next Destinies pack has been officially released and can be bought at comics connection or your local game stores.
2. Price of Mewtwo EX is high like nobody's problem
3. I just opened a facebook group ' Pokemon Mart SG' If you want to sell your cards or is looking for cards, join the group~
4. We have a new member to our blog and that person is Pokeboy11. He is in-charge of all the crazy rouge deck ideas.

18/3 : Singapore Pokemon States Championship (Sanctioned tournament)
